A Wonderful Journey

"And then I thought of human life. I was reminded of many a life that stopped short of its great end just because it lacked the power of will to pushed through hindrance."

I certainly agree with this paragraph.

TRUE. But we should face our dilemmas and do the best that we can. Life must go on. We must keep going.

Just like everybody else, I also have a goal in my life. A goal that I would like to share with you.

I aspire to finish my studies and to be a successful someone someday, certainly. But then, when I graduated in High School, I was really afraid to open and start a new chapter in my life.

I really love my High School friends, classmates and of course, my Alma Mater. Honestly speaking, I really do not want to graduate because I was scared to part and leave my friends. I was afraid to continue with my life without them. It was truly hard for me to bade goodbye to my fun-loving classmates and friends, and to exit the portals of my dearest Alma Mater. But then again, life must go on. I can't stop the time. The only thing that I can do is to accept the fact and keep on with my life... and so I did.

I realized that it's part of life. And it should not be a hindrance upon reaching my goal. They say, everything happens for a reason and it's absolutely true. Besides , I realized that goodbyes are not forever and goodbyes are not the end. That we only part to meet again.

By this time, I am enjoying my college life. Thanks to my classmates!

No to Indigence

Poverty... Poverty... Poverty...

Poverty in the Philippines, our BIGGEST problem and our BIGGEST issue.

Cliche as it may seem but then, it is the truth. It is a fact. It is a reality. It is what we Filipinos are experiencing right now... and that's poverty.

Whenever I go to town and happen to pass by the street children, I would come to realize how lucky I am to able study... to be able to have a home... to be able to buy things that I need... to be able to eat three times a day... and to be able to have a one big happy family. Truly, I pity them so much. I pity them because they are deprived of things that they need and want. Sometimes, I just asked myself 'why?', 'how come?', 'where are their parents?' or 'where do they live?'

When I entered a new chapter of my life, college , I much more caught a glimpse of the street children. I always see them. I always witness them. And I heard something about them. I heard that there are some 'syndicates' and the like.

I had one experience wherein I had a conversation with two of the street children. And I asked them 'san napupunta ang pera niyo? may kumukuha ng pera niyo sa inyo nuh?' The other one said 'opo' but the other boy straightaway said 'wala'. I was curious of their answers. It was totally an opposite. Personally, perhaps the second boy only hides the truth or what. Honestly speaking, I do not always give them money. Or if I will, it would not be that big. But for me, one of the things to help them is to make them friends+_+ do not be hesitant to talk to/with them!

I hope one day, these people would reach their dreams in life. And I hope that poverty will not be existing anymore.hmmm...

But then, despite the fact that we Filipinos are economically challenged, the best thing about us is...

we still do not forget to
enjoy life to the fullest!

Safety Measures

Some time ago, I had an intensive training program somewhere in Manila. I met new chums... certainly, we had conversations and the like. The moment they asked me where do I live and the moment I told them that I live in Zambonga, they were like '
huwaaat?' They were really stunned or maybe surprised...I dont know. Subsequently, they would asked me 'Di ba madaming bomba dun?' or 'Di ba madaming Abu Sayyaf dun?' or 'Di ba magulo dun?'... a lot of no ending 'di ba' questions.

This is just one of my experiences wherein people would question me regarding to the
security here in Zamboanga.

Most of the time, when people hear the island of Mindanao particularly the city of Zamboanga, Basilan or Jolo, the first thing that would enter to their minds is '
Terrorist'.

Zamboanga. Many people have bad impressions and are petrified of going here in Zamboanga City. They were afraid that they might be kidnap or what. One of the many reasons is because of the news about Zamboanga City. Majority of the news concerning our city are about bombs, terrorists, kidnapping and the like. It's already settled in their minds that they will not be secured here.

But it's not just here in Zamboanga or in Mindanao that we should take good care of ourselves. We should also be cautious anywhere and everywhere... anytime and everytime...even at home and in school because we just don't know what will happen afterward. Jeopardy is all over the place.
Just...

be
safe.

be
alert.

be
secured.

Motion Picture

Movies...Movies...Movies...

All I can say is "movies entertain me a lot!"

I am not that fond of watching movies. I mean, I am not that 'addict' or even not that 'fanatic' of watching movies... but I really enjoy watching movies. In my view, movies make me feel better(with the exception of horror movies... absolutely!)

I watch movies especially when there's nothing to do. I do watch romantic movies, action movies, drama movies, or even comedy movies. But I really like the most are horror movies or suspense movies that scare me to the core(boo)! It's really exciting... screaming, shouting and covering your face(not your eyes) when watching horror or suspense movies!

I also love cartoon movies a lot! There was a time last summer when I watched three movies in one afternoon. The movies that I watched were Shrek 1, 2 and 3. I absolutely love the stories and all! Since I watched the movies continuously, I can't remember(or I can't identify) if this particular scene was in Shrek 1, Shrek 2, or Shrek 3 but what's important is I enjoyed watching it! haha... and I certainly love it!

Actually, it isn't new to hear a person who could watch movies in one afternoon, in a half-day or even in a one whole day...right? I knew a lot people who could do that!

Watching movie is a lot of fun but never massacre movies(I watched massacre movies but then it is certainly gross!)

Personally, movie is one of the keys to entertainment!

My mother, My strength, My friend

My mother???
She is the
prettiest mother that ever lived!

My mother has always been my
rock and my source of strength. When I was young, I used to think that bruises and scrapes heal faster if my mama attended to them. I wasn't afraid of the world because I knew mama would always be there to protect me. Mama has always encrusted us with the warmth of her love.

Mama, Ma. Cecilia Ong Devero, a 47 year old woman is a government employee. She works hard for us. She is a kind-loving mother. She cooks, she sings, she dances, she gives advices, she drives... for short, she is a "WONDER WOMAN!". She will do anything and everything just to make us happy.

I could never match the love that my mother has showered upon me and my sister. I know that I could never repay her for the wonderful life she has given us. My sister and I are indeed well-brought-up because of her. It wouldn't be possible without our
much-loved mother.

My mother is really
distinct from all other mothers. She is magnificent! She is extraordinary! She is an oh-so-cool mom! And lastly, she ROCKS! She definitely rocks!

Mama? She is really the
BEST mama in the world! I am so thankful that I have her! She is my friend, my rock, my strength, and my hero! She is simply IRREPLACEABLE!

Me? A Bookworm?

Definitely not!

I just don't know why... maybe because I never appreciated reading books. I am not in the habit of reading books. I never read books(NEVER READING BOOKS? An exaggeration...obviously! haha) I mean, I never read books just to keep myself busy. I absolutely never read books during my leisure time. I just read books if I am obliged to do so. Particularly during examinations and quizzes when books are very much needed. :D

Since the day I was born, I never ever had the interest of reading books! Personally, it's just dreary! It is just wasting my time. I'd rather clean than read. I'd rather play than read. I'd rather sleep than read. In short, I would do anything to content myself but then again, books are a big NO-NO. That's how I dislike reading books.

During my 4th year days, a lot of my classmates read books during our free time. They were too busy reading books. But one day, due to my curiosity of why people enjoy reading books and due to the influence of some of my classmates, I caught myself reading a book! I can't imagine! Impossible, isn't it?! Me, reading a book? It was a miracle! I really can't forget the title as well as the author of the book in the view of the fact that it was the first pocket book that I read. The title of the book was "For One More Day" and t'was written by Mitch Albom. It took me a long time to finish it because I was too lazy to read. After reading the book, I found out that it was fun reading, but, there's no place for sluggishness. Give your interest in reading and eventually, you'll surely love it!

After that, I borrowed again a pocketbook from my one of my friends entitled "Five People You Meet In Heaven" by Mitch Albom. But unfortunately, I neither finished not started reading the book.

Hopefully, I can already start reading the book and finish it as early as possible. Do you know why? Because I borrowed it a long time ago and a lot of people would like to borrow it after I finish reading it(peace yow):D

So, I therefore conclude that I am certainly NOT a booklover!
